_It was a long time ago, but still, so little and so much have changed since then. The races were already in this stupid unstopable war. Every move, every fear was enough reason to start a battle between races. If they could only realize that together they are so much more powerful.
It was back then that they met...
Maya´s words were making reality melt away. I could see where her mind was, and past that, I could see much more than she did, for not only I could picture the story she'd been told, I could see the real story through my powers, making it so much more real and truthful.
Leo was one of the best soldiers in the human army. He was dedicated, fast, and very strong. He had more than 10 different merit badges, and he was only 17. He had a short brown hair, always in a messy do. His eyes were deep green, and he was in perfect shape for his 6´2".
He was out in the woods, doing his usual work out by himself, when he caught sight of a girl. It is hard to describe what happened when he met the deep brown eyes of that girl. The closest you can get to an explanation is love at first sight, but still it isn't strong enough to describe it.
The girl, an elf, was the best archer of the local elf army. Sam was delicate, agile and very, very precise. She was the youngest elf on the elite troup, only 16. Long light brown wavy hair, 5´5", she was in very good shape too. And she was also struck with this deep connection with this strange boy.
The differences between them were so small, that neither realized that they belonged to different races.
Leo aproached the girl with as much carefulness he could. He had never seen someone like her, and his heart was beating faster than he could explain.
_Hello. -He said is his husky deep voice.
_Hi. - She answered just as speechless and nervous as he was, feeling the blush on her cheeks deepening with the rush of blood.
It didn´t take long for them to realize what the other was. But they were so curious about each other that neither wanted to put an end to it.
I could see every date they had, every word they exchanged, every feeling they shared. It was like somewhere in my memory all those stories were told, or lived. They were so real. Maya was still babling the story, but I really didn´t need to hear anymore, I knew what happened next...
Leo and Sam were sitting together at the edge of the river that divided their frontier, lost in each others arms, when a capitan from one of the wolves troops came quietly through the woods. He saw them together and could´t believe it. If the humans and elves got their forces together they would be unstopable. So he came up with a plan. He went up to the humans with two of his best soldiers and asked for a meeting with their capitain. He told the capitain of the human troops that one of his men was being fooled by the elves. They were using enchantments to make the soldier fall in love with one of their own, and using this to get information about the humans war plans and strategy.
It didn´t take long for the humans to came up with a plan against the elves again. They would attack when the elves were not expecting them to. And while the humans made their plan against the elves, the Wolves Capitain went to the elves camp to speak with their leader and told them that the humans were conpirating against them, and planning to attack really soon. In fact, they had even a human infiltraded, using it's magic to control that human and learn how to possess a human body and take away its soul.
A war ignited then. Both races in full power, so many lives were lost at what cost? It was a hard memory and such a strong one.
Leo and Sam had to run away, neither believed in what their own races were planning, and all both the races knew was that someone there might be a traitor. So through the woods, facing wintery days and the coldest nights, they started their path, their fight to survive and save each other, because one couldn't live without the other.

Chapter 1 - The Invisible Tribe Part III
In a blink, I was back at the tent, and all I could hear now was the last cracklings of the fire. The emptyness washed through me, burning every muscle, every bone. I couldn’t wipe away the vivid image of my father, right in front of me, or the feelings of loss. I wasn’t going to fall asleep anytime soon. And that feeling wasn't going anywhere if I just lay here and had time and mind to think about it. Without even thinking I stood up, and went out of the tent.
The cold breeze of dawn was sweet and embracing. I was being careful not to let any of the guards see me sneaking out, and now I was in a little path through the forest. What was I doing? I just needed to be away from everything for just a little bit. The river was close by, and I knew I would be able to relax a little more when the cold breeze washed my face and I could just sit by the river.
_Where are you going? _her honey voice was surprised, and came from right behind me. She had sensed some movement and came to check it out. I should have thought that from all the Invisible’s guards, Maya would be the one to see me sneaking out. I turned to her stoping to a hault. She blushed slightly, looking down.
_I am sorry Aiyn Kinnh, I shouldn’t have talked to your Highness like that. _she was still looking down, and every time she treated me with formal names, that somehow made me a bit uncomfortable.
_Maya, please don’t apologize. I’ve told you I don’t like those crappy names. You are my friend, and should treat me like one. _ I reached for her chin and lifted it up so I could look into her golden eyes. _I needed some peace of mind, so I was going to the river.
Something went through my mind, still looking into her confused eyes.
_Would you like to come with me? I might ask you a few questions, though. _I smiled at her while her blush darkened.
_I am not supposed to leave camp. _She gave a tiny step back to free her chin from my hands and looked briefly into my eyes.
_I would really enjoy your company if you could come, Maya. _I turned back walking back into the path I was taking before.
It didn't take long for Maya to follow up. She didn't say anything, but I couldn't tell if she was following because she would enjoy being in my company too or to guard me.

It didn't take long before we got to the river, the forest here was dense. And the river cut through it giving even more life to this little piece of paradise.
_Thinking of the Empress Aiyn Kira again, Aiyn Kinnh?
HI looked at her, serious. That really bugged me.
_Why do you call us that?
_Excuse me? _she said confused
_Why do you always refer to me or my sister, or even my father as Aiyn first? It’s been bothering me since I got to the village. I don’t get it. _I was trying to find out any emotions though her eyes, trying to read the emotions that played on her face. But the only thing there was surprise.
_I thought you knew why. _she said calmly, trying to figure out where this was heading. _It’s because of who you are. Your lineage. You are the direct descendent of the Sacrifice. The ones that saved us all, and created the power that keeps the walls, city and tribe, safe. That’s why you and your sister will always be Aiyn Kinnh, and Aiyn Kira. Emperor and Empress of Minock.
I took a deep breath, that was a little painful. She looked at me warmly and curious, her hands were twitching, like if she wanted to touch my face, to comfort me? Help me? But they just didn't move. And with a sight, she looked up to the sky.
_This is a hard thing to understand, and I really wished I could understand everything that is going on better, but I don’t. _The frustration was everywhere on my voice. _It would help if you told me some of the tribe histories. The ones that have to do with why me and Kira are the way we are, and who we are, the ones that tell about the Sacrifice?
Curiosity was burning through me, and I could tell I was really close to find out all the whys I have been wanting to get.
_I don’t know if that is a good idea…
_It would be great, Maya. Think about it! Wouldn’t it be easier if I understood what was going on, if I understood my mission and my enemies a little better? If I knew where all of this war began? I need to understand Maya, why my father is not with my sister and I anymore. Why my sister and I have to be apart at this hard moment. Why I feel some of my power draining out of me without an explanation. I know Chief Paul is against me knowing them, but wouldn’t it make this journey of ours much easier?
_It’s not that Father is against you knowing them. He is not sure if you are ready to know them just yet. _she bit her lip for a second. _I am not sure I could tell them. _she looked down, struggling to find out why they were not telling me the reasons, the truth.
He kneeled in front of her and took her hands on his. Her face blushed and her eyes met his gaze, his deep green eyes, full of warmth, and full of questions. Her cheeks started to turn pink.
_Kinnh… _she hesitated
_Please Maya, please! I beg you! Help me understand.
She took one of her hands back and carefully brushed it through Kinnh’s cheek.
_You are so important, Aiyn Kinnh. You mean so much to me, to us, and have no idea of how much that is. You and your sister are everything to us, because you are the fruits of ones courage.
Defeated, Maya started blurting out the words without thinking so much. The histories were so much a part of them that she knew all of it by heart. And could tell them over and over without changing a single word.
And while Maya started telling him the history, he found himself disconnecting from the world once more, this time, to a memory that did not belong to him.

Chapter 1 - The Invisible Tribe part II
Those words were bringing me to a different place, I could hear the voices of the guardians being pulled away from my reach, to a different time, to a different memory, I closed my eyes while the vivid memory became alive around me. I felt the world I was in disconnect from reality. And although I knew I was still in the tent, in the middle of the Invisible’s camp, the scenario around me changed.
I was standing on a meadow, in the middle of a dense forest. It did not have a specific shape, but it was mesmerizing. The grass was short, and you could tell that this place received visitors quite often for the way the grass grew weakly, some wild flowers stubbornly grew through the place, although not too many, just enough to make anyone that cross this place for the first time stop to admire it, it was a beautiful place. I knew this place, and I knew in which memory of my own I was in. I turned in the direction I knew the little boy would appear right when he stepped in to the meadow.

I knew this place, and I knew in which memory of my own I was in. I turned in the direction I knew the little boy would appear right when he stepped in to the meadow.
The little boy’s breathing was hard, like he had been running for miles and miles without stopping. Sweat and dirt spread across his angel face, and I could never get used to the way the little boy looked. The boy was amazingly beautiful; not that I noticed that much, but anyone else could stare at this little boy forever and never get tired of his beauty. Even with his clothes torn apart and full of mud and dirt, he still would be the object of admiration. With his light brown hair that reflected bronze in the sunlight, and his deep green eyes, he was the closest you could get to an angel. Or a freaky demon, as I thought.
For a moment I was amazed, stunned; I caught me mesmerizing myself as a little boy. I have been through this memory over and over through the years of my life, and although this memory did not lead to happy memories, it was one of the last memories I remembered being truly happy. A jolt of pain stager in my heart. I wished I could go back in time, to that exact moment so I could change the sequence of what was going to happen. I did not know if it would make a difference, but it would be worth trying.
_There you are! - a familiar voice sounded through the woods, making both of me turn to the sound of it. It was a deep, husky voice. The little me didn't think twice, and at the sound of that voice pull out his sword and pointed toward the sound of the voice. The sword, was not a rightful description of the weapon he was holding. just the blade of it was almost the size of the kid's legs, and it was proportionally larger sideways, a lot thicker and fatter than normal.
My eyes were fixed on the meadow's north edge, looking exactly were the man was about to appear. And although this was just a strong memory in my head and all of this wasn't really happening, my heart begun to pound really fast, and I could not breath.
The man stepped out of the forest with a sigh. He was tall, and strong, really strong. His eyes were deep green, and his hair was pitch black. His face was severe and strong, he had disapproval written all over his face. He was a handsome man. The kind that when passing through a village or city was easily noticed by the women around and left many of the man envious.
The man pinched his nose's bridge.
_I am tired of this, boy, this ends here and now! - He grabbed his own sword off his back, and pointed toward the young me.
The kid took a deep breath, and ran across the meadow cutting the distance between him and the man that brought danger over.
The man did not seem to move. He sighted again and when Kinnh's sword was close enough, he stepped away and grabbed the surprised little boy that just realized his target wasn't there anymore by the back of his neck.
_Let me go! - my young self shouted while the man lifted him from the floor and he was caught kicking and punching the air.
_That is enough of your games, Kinnh, it is time to go home, take a bath and go to bed. And there is NOTHING you can do about it. I am your dad and you will do as I say. _The man said calmly and although this was supposed to be a serious conversation between them, he had a big smile in his face.
He grabbed the sword from his son's grip and putted it away in his own back while he settled him down keeping his hand on Kinnh's shoulder.
_Now you listen, next time this happens, you better keep your head in the battle too, otherwise, you will always be beaten up by whoever you are against. _He was so serene that you could see the kid's shoulder relax in defeat. _ You always keep your sword in position, it needs to have space to be swung. And you need to think before you do so. Just because it worked once, it doesn't means it works with everyone or everytime. _ He smiled getting on his knee in front of his son. _Do you have any idea of how proud I am of you? _ Kinnh smiled halfheartedly and embarrassed.
_Thanks dad.
_Now let's go home. And don't even think of not bathing yourself. _He said teasingly _ Your sister does not deserve to sleep with a skunk.
_I don't think she would mind, actually. _He protested
_Oh! I bet she would! And I bet she would beat you up all the way to the river just to make sure you do bathe!
He pulled his hand over his head and scratched his back, smiling embarrassed again.
_Well, she only did it once! And she did not beat me up all the way there, I ran half the way!
His dad shook with laughter straighting up and walking along his son back to the village.
I was still standing in the meadow, watching my younger self and my dad walk beside each other into the forest and back to where they used to live. I took in a sharp breath, I had forgotten to breathe trying to absorb a littler bit more of this moment.
That was the last time I had ever seen my father. Eleven years ago...

Chapter 1 - The Invisible Tribe
We had just set camp outside the skirts of a little town of Goblins, Tmakik. You could always count on Goblins not to notice on some half elves around town, they could barely tell the difference between grapes and berries! Ha! I snorted. There I was making fun of the poor little creatures that were as blind as an old drunk lady, instead of being thankful for the opportunity of setting camp for longer than a couple days.
I took a deep breath, setting my backpack on the corner of the tent. The sound of the fire crackling in the burning logs was the only thing I could hear outside. Everyone should be in their own tents, sleeping soundlessly through the feeling of being safe again, at least for tonight.
I knew where the sound I was looking for was, and once you know where the sound you want to hear is coming from, it gets easier to find it from this far. There were some good things about being a Cursed One, the hearing was one of them, and the inexplicable other powers that come along with it. But sometimes I do wonder if the burden wasn’t too much for only two people to carry. I focused on the whispers that I could now hear. There, around the 25 tents, the guardians were on their watch to protect the Invisibles camp.
_How is he doing, Maya? – a soft deep voice asked.
_I wish I could tell for sure, Father. He is so difficult to read. I can’t tell if he is just worried about Aiyn Kira, or if he is suffering the lost of the Great Aiyn Khadagar. – her soft honey words were like a dagger in his heart. She could really see more than he thought she could.
_It is a hard burden to carry. – Father whispered in a serious tone. – He is way too young, and I wish there were other ways, but he is who he is, and we all depend on him and his sister.
She took a deep breath.
_I wish I could help more. – she said with a clear frustration on her voice.
_We are doing what we should do, Maya, and that is to protect Aiyn Kinnh, and to guide him through his journey. There is no more we can do.
_Father… - She hesitated, and Kinnh knew her well enough to know that she would be looking to her feet right now, and probably twisting one of her gold locks of hair in one finger, not sure if she should or should not ask. That made him grim a little bit.
_Maya. – He answered the unspoken question – Aiyn Khadagar was the greatest Emperor I have ever known. And the same applies to Aiyn Khalia, his beloved sister, and Empress. What you need to understand now, my child, is that the burden wasn’t something Aiyn Kinnh and Aiyn Kira choose upon, but they were prepared to take it before they even knew about it. And they are the only ones that can hold the walls, my child, they are too powerful. Much more powerful than any of us together! And they love us, my child, they understand our mission, our passion, and our hatred of war, our need of peace.
Preface
“It was a time of Wars in this World we once lived in. The races were in war, afraid of one another abilities, and afraid to lose the little power they had. Elves, humans, werewolves, vampires, and many others, lived in a constant war, battle after battle, afraid of what could happen next. No one could count on anyone. There was always a reason to fight, but no reason to stop. Lives were lost, dreams were shattered, families forever broken, forever lost…”
